Coral Necklace Antique Victorian 14K Gold Graduated Beads c1880 Wedding Jewelry. A SUPERB VICTORIAN NECKLACE OF A DOUBLE STRAND OF GRADUATED CORAL BEADS WITH A 14K ROSE GOLD CLASP DATING TO C1880 - CAN ALSO BE WORN AS A LONG SINGLE CHAIN. This is just a magnificent antique jewel! The design and craftsmanship on this antique Victorian necklace are absolutely of the highest quality.
The necklace is composed of graduated natural coral beads individually knotted. There is a 14K rose gold clasp which when closed creates a double strand of coral accented by the lovely rose gold and coral cabochon clasp. If the clasp is not closed it can be worn as a long necklace with the gold and coral clasp as a pendant at the base of the necklace. The color of the coral is just stunning and offset by the gold creates a truly magical antique jewel. I believe the necklace dates to c1880 but it could be earlier or later. This piece is so very special for anyone who loves unique and wonderful antique jewelry! This is a rare find. The necklace is in excellent condition. The clasp is hallmarked 585 for 14K gold and H. The necklace is 16 inches (41 cm) long when doubled, when it is single it is 32 inches long. The clasp measures 12 mm in diameter. The coral beads range from 3 to 7 mm. The coral cabochon in the clasp is 9 mm.
