Vintage Salmon Pink Angel Skin Coral Vase Bead Necklace. This lovely natural, undyed coral necklace is a graduated strand of 45 hand carved, vase shaped coral beads. This bead type is also called called torpedo shaped. It is a rare shape because of the difficulty of carving the thin edge of each bead see photos.

The color of the beads is variegated in salmon, pink, and white. This variation in the color, as well as slight variation in the shapes of the beads, indicate that this is genuine hard coral. This necklace is an estate piece, 1960's or earlier, most likely Italian made. It is securely strung on doubled salmon-colored thread. There is one broken bead, the tenth bead from the clasp. Both parts of this single broken bead remain in the strand, not noticeable except to close inspection. There are tiny chips on the thinnest edges of a few beads.

These are the result of hand carving and normal wear. There are no missing or cracked beads. Gold plated spring ring clasp. A beautiful coral necklace in very good vintage condition. This necklace has a high value because hard corals, one of the oldest materials used in jewelry, are becoming extinct due to global climate change and increasing ocean temperatures.

This has led to a significant increase in price.
